Resourcing Church Planting Where Christ Is Not Named or Known

“I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, where Christ has not already been named.” Romans 15:20
Unreached people groups are unreached because they are the hardest, most expensive, and often most dangerous places to reach. So most of the church planting resources and efforts go to already reached people. Those who want to go often have the least access to the vast resources of the Church. So if someone doesn’t resource and support pioneer church planters to go to the 1.9 billion unreached people, how will the world be reached with the Gospel? Why not us! Why not now!

The scale of the task is massive, but with God, anything is possible!

Frontier people groups worldwide—each one 0.1% Christian or less.

People living within those frontier groups, with almost no gospel witness among them.

23.4%

Of the world’s population belongs to a people group where Christ has not been named.

Joshua Project tracks every people group on earth by how much access they have to the gospel. Frontier groups are 0.1% Christian or less—fewer than 1 in 1,000 have ever called on the name of Jesus. Our mission and strategy is to support pioneer church planters where Jesus is not named or known by creating, raising, and generously giving resources.

Creating, Raising & Giving

How We Resource the Mission

Our strategy has three parts—we create resources, raise support, and give generously so pioneer planters can go.

1

Create

We generate our own resources to fund the work, independent of any single source of support.

  • Investment income
  • Consulting
  • Equipping services
  • Book sales and other materials
2

Raise

We raise support through relationships with the wider Church and those who share our vision.

  • Churches
  • Individuals
  • Organizations
  • Grants
3

Give

We deploy what we create and raise directly into the hands of pioneer church planters—generously, and through real relationship.

  • Funding for planters and teams
  • Training and equipping
  • Ongoing partnership on the field
